We made our first trip up to Mesa after you were born so you could receive your baby blessing from Daddy in Grammy and Papa Schaub's family ward. We were nervous to make the road trip, but you did pretty well. We were so thankful for everyone that came and added to the spirit on your special day. Tutu even flew in from Texas for the occasion.
I didn't want to stress my mom out and have her sew you a dress, so I told her just to bring my blessing dress or one of the other ones she had made because they were all so pretty. But of course the night before she stayed up really late and made you your very own! The dress was very detailed and my Mom had found the most beautiful white/ivory material to use. There's just something special about a white baby blessing dress that symbolizes purity and faithfulness.
Here are some blessings Daddy mentioned that I hope you will always remember and aspire to be:
1. To adhere to the teachings of your parents and the gospel.
2. Blessed you with the gift of discernment.
3. That you'll have a good judge of character.
4. That you will always be a good example to others and to those who are not members of the church.
5. Blessed you with a healthy body.
6. He blessed you that when the time comes you will find a worthy husband to take you to the temple to be married for all eternity.
7. That me and you will grow and learn together.
8. He blessed you that you may always have a strong relationship with your mother and father.
After your blessing Grammy Schaub made everyone a delicious dinner. We all sat around and chatted and everyone waited their turn to hold you. You were the star of the show that day!
Meg was so sweet and woke up early that morning and made one of my most favorite chocolate cakes just for your blessing day! It was sooooooo divine and went quickly!
Tutu loves spending time with her great grandchildren.
